AlliedOffsets Biodiversity Report
If executed well, carbon market projects can address both the climate and biodiversity crises at the same time, by conserving and restoring ecosystems of great value. To identify which projects do this, and which projects have a potential negative impact on nature, we have set out to assess biodiversity as a co-benefit of carbon projects.
This report introduces our new biodiversity score, which assesses projects on a range of indicators relating to biodiversity. The score builds on the biodiversity work we have been doing since the start of this year.

CORSIA: Forecasting Future Demand and Supply Scenarios
Carbon offsetting is vital for aviation’s net-zero transition, with CORSIA aiming to ensuring real and permanent emissions reductions.
Currently, First phase Eligible Emission Units (EEUs) are scarce, with 7 million credits from Guyana’s REDD+ project. Demand forecasts for First phase compliance range from 50 million EEUs (low emission) to 230 million EEUs (high emission). Without changes, supply will fall short, but a generous supply scenario could meet medium demand. Supply uncertainties and approval delays challenge CORSIA’s effectiveness.
In this report we assess the state if the market and map out possible future scenarios. This report also includes recommendations from IETA and IATA on improving the scheme.
